From a young age, it has been my passion and drive to pursue a career as a Psychotherapist. I am fascinated by psychology, spirituality and personal growth. My interest in personal growth and transformation began with my own difficulties. As a teenager I experienced depression and anxiety that impacted my ability to thrive. From a desire to feel better and transcend this pain, I read countless books on personal growth, explored spiritual thought and developed a meditation practice. My experiences with depression and anxiety created an insight and empathy for others, as well as a desire to pursue studies in psychology and social work.
I am a life long learner and seeker of knowledge. I always have several books on the go and am excited by the prospect of new knowledge. I am an avid traveler, and a believer in the wisdom received through connection with people, places and ideas.
I have been practicing psychotherapy for the past 10 years. In addition to my work as a psychotherapist in private practice, I am the clinical leader for the Mental Health Program at a large Family Health Team in Toronto. Some of my other experiences working in the mental health field include teaching at Centennial College in the workplace wellness and health promotion program and several years experience working on a crisis and suicide intervention team.
